Jasmine Guy reached the peak of her career in the late 80s and early 90s when she was one of the stars of the legendary sitcom A Different World (1987-1993), which was about love, of life and higher education in a fictional HBCU.
Her role as Whitley Marion Gilbert–Wayne on The Cosby Show’s Side Affair earned her four consecutive NAACP Image Awards from 1990 to 1993 for Leading Role in a Comedy Series.

Jasmine Guy was married once. On August 22, 1998, she tied the knot with Terrence Duckett. Their marriage lasted a decade before they separated in 2008. People reported their divorce after Los Angeles court documents showed Guy filed for divorce based on irreconcilable differences.
