We are so proud of Asma Khan @asmakhanlondon for becoming the first British Chef to be featured on @chefstablenetflix! Fave line in the episode: “My aim is for you to leave like someone has embraced you. That’s how food should be.” And that’s truly how it feels to dine at her restaurant @darjeelingldn. Asma’s story is remarkably profound, deeply painful and personal at times, and for those of us who are immigrants, have lived the “Desi” woman struggle (ya’ll know what I mean), or have endured abundant streams of unsolicited comments, opinions, and advice from our immigrant families or communities, the episode is incredibly resonating and liberating. Cried watching this 🤧😭 Asma has opened her doors for us, allowing us to overcome our inexperience and personal doubts. In 2018, she handed over her entire restaurant to us newbies so we could serve a formal afternoon Kashmiri tea service to Londoners. Thank you for trusting us to not burn your restaurant down 🤪 We wish you continued success Baji and hope this is not the last time we see you on TV! #desiwonderwoman #muslimwomenrising #greatbritishwomen #proudfans #womensupportingwomen #womeninfood
